Summer Break

One of the things i do for my job is coordinate the hours of the computer lab, and I find it helps as a designer to make signs myself. It's fast, and I can be confident that I have the relevant information, and it gives me a chance to be playful with my design and try out new things.

I also like making the signs because I get frustrated when I see bad ones.

Background is a macro shot of a warning barricade, screened out some. Doodled a little sleeping dragon to give it character.

Type is the open-source League Gothic which I have fallen in love with lately, after a dalliance with Myriad Condensed.

I also cut out a stand from an old paper box to glue one sign to to make a standup. We have to have like 50 of these around and people still ask if we're closed/don't see the signs.
